What will you learn?


This guide is the beginner's introduction to programming languages and frameworks that they can learn for server-side web development and part of a continuation of How to learn web development for a complete beginner. These server-side programming languages are the most popular and have large communities behind them, making them great for most people to learn. I will briefly introduce you to the different server-side technologies to help you decide on one to learn based on your needs and preferences.That is a good thing as it means that you do not have to be overwhelmed by the number of languages there are. Just pick one for now and stick to it, then learn another. Almost about 95% of what you can do with a programming language, you can usually do it in another. So don't worry about it and have fun learning.


Course Schedule


The course is from 10am to 7pm and is broken sections 1st session - introduction, theory, health and safety. 2nd session - application and practice on mannequin. 1 hour lunch. 3rd session - practice on a live model. Please note you will need to bring a live model to practice


Course Summary


Welcome to the MDN beginner's server-side programming course! In this first article, we look at server-side programming from a high level, answering questions such as "what is it?", "how does it differ from client-side programming?", and "why it is so useful?". After reading this article you'll understand the additional power available to websites through server-side coding.Most large-scale websites use server-side code to dynamically display different data when needed, generally pulled out of a database stored on a server and sent to the client to be displayed via some code (e.g. HTML and JavaScript).
